Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment

Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment

Are you in need of affordable health insurance or are you interested in changing your current coverage? Open Enrollment is a period of time each year for shopping, comparing and enrolling in individual health insurance plans. Open Enrollment began February 15th and will end on May 15th, 2021. During the open enrollment period, current health insurance plans can also be changed or cancelled. If the open enrollment period is missed, enrollment in a health insurance plan can only occur after a qualifying event, such as getting married, having a baby or losing employer-sponsored coverage.

Note that when applying for health insurance during open enrollment periods, applicants cannot be turned down or charged more for coverage, even with a pre-existing condition.

To participate in Open Enrollment you have several options:

Certified Health Insurance Application Counselors will be available at Moab Regional Hospital to assist individuals in enrolling in the Insurance Marketplace during the Open Enrollment period.
