What is an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)?

An EMR is a technology used by healthcare providers to store and track patient medical information.

Why is Moab Regional Hospital transitioning to a new EMR system?

Our current EMR software is being discontinued and will no longer be supported.

What EMR will Moab Regional Hospital be transitioning to?

After a lengthy evaluation and selection process, a multidisciplinary team, including both clinical and non-clinical staff, determined that Meditech Expanse was the best EMR solution for Moab Regional Hospital. What does a new EMR mean for Patients?

This transition to a new EMR provides an opportunity to upgrade and standardize medical records across all departments at the hospital, providing:

  • Improved patient safety and health by giving all providers easy access to a patient’s full medical history
  • Improved patient care by helping providers share patient data
  • Integrated data analytics that will help providers make better decisions about patient care
  • A new patient portal that will allow patients to schedule appointments, request medication refills, and message their providers

Appointment Check-In

There may be some delays in your appointment time as we update your patient information and ensure that your record is accurate.

When you arrive for your appointments, please be prepared to show or bring the following:

  • Photo identification
  • All health insurance cards
  • A list of all medications

Appointment Wait Times

To give our staff time to get up to speed with the new EMR, providers will see fewer patients daily, which may increase appointment wait time for several months.

Billing

Patients may see overlapping billing notices because services provided on or before April 10, 2023, will be billed through our old EMR, and services provided on or after April 11, 2023, will be billed through our new EMR.

For any billing questions, please call our billing office at 435-719-3536.

Patient Portal

All patients will need to create a patient portal account in the new EMR to access information for services provided on or after April 11, 2023.
Click here to access the new patient portal.

To view information for services provided on or before April 10, 2023, please log into MyCareCorner, the patient portal for our old EMR.

Note that providers will have access to all patient records regardless of when services were provided.

Why is the ability to share a patient’s medical record important?

A shared system means that the health information a doctor, pharmacy, or lab enters into a patient’s medical record at one facility can be accessed by providers and staff at other facilities when they need it.
